When Kyu passed away, Bob Dylan was touring in Japan, & he performed this song in the middle of his set at one venue, stating before he began the song that he used to hear Kyu's version way back when & now he wanted to repay him in tribute. I have an audience recording of that somewwhere, maybe it's under a dusty decanter of Sake ~
I think he did that song twice on his 1986 tour in Japan. Once at Castle Hall in Osaka Fu, and again at Nippon Budokan Hall in Tokyo. This was his tour with Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers and they joined him on this song. The band didn't sing at all, instead relying on the crowd to sing along with their instrumental track. I'm sure the crowd loved it! You can hear it here: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xrsjkw_bob-dylan-with-tom-petty-and-the-heartbreakers-sukiyaki-march-10-1986_music#.US1_w45s_to
