    P.S. This is also one of those rare non-instrumental songs that doesn't mention the title in the lyrics.

    If you google Colin Loggins, who is Danny's son, you'll see his wedding announcement from 2007 that states his age at 39. That suggests Colin was born around 1968, which would support your version of the story behind Danny's Song.

    Found this online. Hope it helps:

    Dan Loggins was my fraternity brother in Beta Chi at Cal State University in Los Angeles in the mid 60's. Hope this sheds some light on this subject.
